COMMUNISTS BARRED
USE OF SYDNEY HALL SYDNEY, April 20. The Sydney City Council has decided unanimously to ban the use of the Sydney Town Hall by the Communist Party. Councillors said that the Communists had obtained the use of the hall in the past under the pretence of wanting it for patriotic purposes. They had then used the hall to spread communism and to takg up collections for Communist activities. Alderman W. Becker said that the Communists were no longer a political party as “they are controlled by a foreign body outside Australia to the detriment of this country and the British Empire.”
