The odds-on favourite Columnist ran the worst race of his career, finishing last. Hiraji was headed out of a place. Ellis was suspended for one month. N. A. Crombie, rider of of Cot-oase, was fined £5 for giving unsatisfactory evidence at the inquiry.. The suspension of Ellis means -hat a r.cw rider will have to be found for the Southland filly Excellency in her engagements at the Auckland Eastei meeting. ______________
