LABOUR OFFICERS ELECTED The twelfth annual meeting of the Makaraka branch of the Labour Party was held in the hall on March 6. There was a very good attendance of members. Tiie election of officers resulted: President, Mr. W. Jonasen (elected unopposed): vice-president, Mr. H. J. Owen; auditor, Mr, R. F. Conole, secretary and treasurer, Mrs. M. Dailey: committee. Mesdames Jonasen, If. J. Owen and C. Houghton, Messrs. B. Emms, W. Beets, A. Houghton and C. Houghton. The committee was congratulated on the good work done during the year in helping the branch socially as well as financially, there being a very creditable branch balance. Messrs. Jonasen, C. Houghton and G. Gray were chosen as delegates to represent the branch to the L.R.C. in Gisborne.
