“MAGNIFICENT RAIN”

BENEFIT TO WAIRARAPA (P.A.) MASTERTON. March 15. The drought in the Wairarapa was broken last night and today when rain measuring from .67 inches to 1.50 inches was recorded for the 24 hours. Drizzling rain continues.

“It is the best breaking of a drought I have ever seen.’’ said Mr. H. Morrison, Awatoitoi. “It is really magnificent rain. The best lias come at nighttime. Things were getting desperate. Some farmers had been obliged to go for water. The rain will mean tens of thousands of pounds in the Wairarapa in production.”
