LINES GREASY
RAILCAR DELAYED Hold-ups through various causes south of Napier caused the WcllingtonGisborne railcar to be 21 hours late in arriving at Gisborne this morning. Heavy rain in the Manawatu and Hawke's Bay areas had caused the rails to become greasy in parts and slow progress was made by the railcar over those portions. Portions of the line between Napier and Gisborne were also greasy, causing slight delays to the car. Due at 1.34 a.m., the car arrived at the Gisborne station at 3.52 a.m. Refuelling and cleaning were quickly accomplished and the car pulled out for Napier at 4.32 a.m., an hour late. No damage to lines in the Gisborne district after the week-end rain had been reported this morning.
