MILK SUPPLY STOPPED
SOUTHLAND SCHOOLS [(P.A.) INVERCARGILL, March 13. The supply of milk to most schools in Southland where children have been .receiving a daily issue has been stopped This was confirmed by the medical officer of health for Southland, !Dr. K. J. H. Davies, but he said he was not prepared to give the reasons why this action had been taken or to comment on the matter. He did not know how long the suspension of supplies would continue. The chairman of the Southland Education Board, Mr. S, Rice, said the hoard had been advised by the Health Department that 'the scheme had been suspended in Southland until further notice. No reason for the suspension was given. The board had received no complaints from parents and did not propose to take any further action. “I have no idea,” said a city headmaster when asked if he knew why the scheme had been suspended.
