PROSECUTION PENDING
AUSTRALIAN AIR LINES ROUTE FACILITIES FEES MELBOURNE, March 13. Two airline companies will be prosecuted for the recovery of fees for air route facilities, stated an official of the Civil Aviation Department. The companies are the Australian National Airways for the recovery of £34,000 and Ansett Airways for £12,000. The Federal Government introduced charges for use of the air route facilities on August 8, 1947. The fees are based on the weight of the aircraft. A Civil Aviation Department official said the time set down for the payment of charges had elapsed and steps would be taken to prosecute the companies.
