TWO NEW SCHEMES
TEACHERS’ INTERESTS NO FINALITY YET Two outstanding topics, superannuation and grading, were discussed during the past year by members of the P.B. branch of the New Zealand Educational Institute, according to the annual report presented at a recent meeting of members. The new superannuation scheme was expected to appeal to all teachers, if not with complete and unanimous approval, as recognition of something approaching tlie institute’s policy. No finality has yet been reached on the approved new grading scheme for teachers, or as to its date of introduction. Regarding annual or biennial grading, no official intimation gives much hope of teachers’ wishes being acceded to.
“It is imperative that this all-import-ant matter of grading reach a satisfactory conclusion in the near future,” stated the report. The election of officers resulted: — President, Mr. A. W. Bullen; vice-presi-dents, Messrs. R. T. Newick. M. H. Beuth; hon. secretary and treasurer, Mr. M. 11. Beuth; hon. auditor, Mr. T. A. Coleman; management committee. Miss D. Emmerson, Messrs. E. G.
