TARANAKI RELIEF
STILL MORE RAIN NEEDED (P.A.) NEW PLYMOUTH, March 13. Steady rain that fell throughout Taranaki on Thursday brought welcome relief to parched pastures, but much more is needed. Intermittent showers in the past few weeks did little more than dampen the surface of the soil. Farmers consider, however, that the rain will steady the decline in production of recent weeks. It came too late to bring production at the latter end of the season up to normal.
