TRUMAN SHAKEN
CONFIDENCE IN PEACE AMERICANS WARNED (11 a.m.) WASHINGTON, March 12. President Truman stated yesterday that his confidence in world peace had been somewhat shaken by the recent events in Europe, but he still clings to his confidence in eventual peace. The President, addressing a press conference, said: “We must have peace because the world could not stand the self-destruction of another world war,’’ President Truman expressed deep regret over M. Masaryk’s death and added that he wanted to repeat the statement made the previous day by Mr. Marshall urging American people to be carefu 1 that the passions did not get the best of them until the full facts were known. President Truman also told the conference that the United States did not favour including the Chinese Communists in the Chinese Government and never had.
