MRS. DAVID DOUGLAS
Members of the Scottish community in particular, and many other friends of Mrs Christine Douglas heard with deep regret recently of her death in Aberdeen Infirmary, Scotland, where her one daughter. Miss Nancy Douglas, is a member of the nursing staff. Mrs. Douglas, who lived in Gisborne for 24 years, was engaged on an extensive tour of the United Kingdom when she took ill. She was a native of Scotland, having come from Montrose, where she married Mr. David Douglas, a Matokitoki Valley farmer. Mr. Douglas brought his bride back to New Zealand shortly after their wedding, and she made many close friendships in this district. A woman of many fine qualities, she received warm sympathy when she was widowed some years ago. Later she resided for a time in Clifford street before leaving late last year on her return to Scotland. Her death occurred on February 27.
