P.B. CRICKET REPS.
SIDE TO MEET FIJI GISBORNE EASTER GAME The P.B. representative cricket team to meet the touring Fiji side in the two-day Easter match on the Gisborne Oval was approved at a meeting of the management committee held on Wednesday evening. ..The committee expressed thanks to the_ selectors, Messrs. F. R. Piercy, J. Smith and E. F. James, for their capable attention to the exacting task of choosing the team.
The team is; T. M. Sharp, Rugby Old Boys (captain); G. O. Rabone, United (vice-captain); S. B. Martin, R. Barbour, Rugby Old Boys; C. R, Fraser, P. H. Dow, I. C- Stewart, United; D. F. Cederwall, T. T- Turbitt, H. 5.0.8.; E. Clapham, J. Blane, Marist; H. Tapping Rugby Old Boys (twelfth man). The game is to be played on Easter Monday, March 29, and the following day. During the matches already played the Fijian representatives have gained a reputation for bright cricket with forceful batting, fast bowling and brilliant fielding and their appearance in the district is awaited eagerly by followers of the game.
