GOING TO EUROPE
CLOTHES 100 YEARS OLD SNARES ISLAND STORES (P.A.) DUNEDIN, Jan. 6. Clothes from depots established on the Snares Islands, 70 miles south of Stewart Island, more than 100 years ago will go to Europe to aid in clothing homeless people, said Dr. R. C. Murphy, of the American Museum of Natural History today. The clothing, he added, had been brought back by Dr. R. A. Falla, director of the Dominion Museum, on instructions from the Government. The clothing had been stored in trunks lined with tin and was in good condition. The garments were typical of the times in which they had been left at the Snares. They might not be up to the minute in style, said Dr. Murphy, but their condition was excellent. At least they would keen someone warm even if they did provide a laugh for those who saw them.
