PHOTOGRAPHING SKY
TELESCOPES IN ROCKETS NEW YORK, Nov. 20. Telescopes carried in long-range rockets may be used to obtain photographs of the heavens at heights of 300 to 000 miles, according to scientists from the California Institute of Tecffhology. They claim that ordinary telescopes, no matter how big. Will be relegated to a secondary role by rocket-borne telescopes, ■ which may open up “undreamed-of vistas.” Plans are now being made for research on large, primary rockets, such as the German V-2, which would carry secondary rockets. The latter, it is hoped, would reach heights of up to COO miles from the earth, carrying scientific equipment which would return to the earth for examination. -•
