CO-OPERATION PLEA
INDIA AND PAKISTAN DELEGATIONS TO U.N. NEW YORK, Sept. 18. The Indian delegation appealed to the Pakistan representatives today to collaborate fully with them in the United Nations and avoid further outspoken statements such as was made yesterday by Sir Zafrullah Khan, leader of the Pakistan delegation, who, on his arrival in New York, said: “The Government of India has utterly failed to control the Indian riots and prevent the extermination of Moslems-” Although the Indian Government has taken no steps so far to contradict various declarations by Sir Zafrullah Khan, Mrs. Pandit, as, leader of the Indian delegation, and her group of delegates are understood to be considering the matter seriously. The Indian delegation members arc understood to have had a conference with Hassan Ispahan!, the Pakistan delegate, aftd pointed out that he is here to obtain an American loan on behalf of Pakistan and that he would not enhance his chances if he gave the impression that the situation in India was out of control. It is also understood that the Indian delegation has emphasised to Pakistan the importance of their collaboration on major issues such as Palestine and South Africa.
