N.Z. MAORIS DRAW
NORTH OTAGO MATCH THRILLING RUGBY DISPLAY (P.A.) DUNEDIN, Sept. 22. The New Zealand _ Maoris played bright football and delighted the largest crowd seen at the Showgrounds for a Rugby match for many years in a drawn game with North Otago 12all. The Maoris were quick to turn defence into attack and exploit every advantage, but the home side although conceding a stone in weight per man in the forwards, contributed its full share towards a thrilling display. Five minutes after the kick-off Halvershen opened the scoring with a field goal. The spell was well advanced before Tuapaea scored a try, making the half-time score: North Otago 4, Maoris 3. Goals from penalties by Halversen and Proctor made the score 7-6. Hohaia scored to give the Maoris the lead, 9-7. but North Otago again went to the front with a try by Kilbour converted by Halversen, 12-9.
