TOKOMARU VIOLET DAY
(Herald Correspondent.) At the mission house, Tokomaru Bay, violet day was held recently, that day also being the twenty-second birthday of the Mothers* Union branch of Tokomaru Bay. There was a very large attendance of members, their children and friends and a very pleasant afternoon was spent. An intriguing competition of “Countries and Islands ' was won by Mrs. J. Elliott and Mrs. McSkimming. A varied programme of items given by the following children was very much enjoyed by all present: Robin and Beverley Elliott, Dawn, Joyce, lan and Denis Campbell. Wendy Hassall, Olive Naden and Margaret Malcolm. A sale of flowers, including many choice blooms, proved most successful. A delicious afternoon tea was served.
