WAIROA COURT
(S.R.) WAIROA, Sept. 20. Mr. E. L. Walton, S.M., was on the Bench at a short sitting of the Wairoa Magistrate’s Court yesterday, the following cases being dealt with: John Whaanga, who appeared on a charge of having stolen a camera and a claw-hammer, was sentenced to one month’s imprisonment. A drover, Daniel O’Connell, was fined 30s, with costs 10s, for driving stock through the Wairoa Borough without a permit. Abraham Solomon was fined £2, with costs 2Ss, for permitting liquor to he carried in his taxi, and the passenger, Sam Waikaro, a Maori, was fined £2, with costs 2Ss. for_ having been found with liquor in his possession.
