South Island Air Race
Several members of the Canterbury Aero Club, which is sponsoring the 1000-mile South Island aviation contest in February next, visited Gisborne this week to discuss witli members of the Gisborne Aero Club the prospects of entering an aircraft in the contest. They explained that the event was a reliability test rather than a speed contest. Several firms in other cehtrcs arc sponsoring aircraft in the contest. Although it is not thought likely that a machine will be entered from Gisborne, the matter will be discussed at the next meeting of the Gisborne Aero Club.
