RUSSIA NO DANGER TO U.S. FOR 25 YEARS
Washington, Sept. IS The United States Department of Commerce’s chief expert on Soviet affairs, Mr. Ernest Ropes, declared today that Russia’s industrial production will not be adequate to support war against the United States for at least 25 years.
“We do not need to worry about. Russia as a potential enemy,” he said. Mr. Ropes, who recently headed a mission to Moscow, said it would take Russia until 1950 to achieve the steel output attained by the United States and the Russians badly need practically everything necessary to modernise their economy.
