EUROPEAN ATTITUDE EMPHASIS ON LOANS Leaving Europe with a feeling that too much emphasis was being laid on the Continent on loans and not enougli on production. Mr W. W. Mulho'.lnnd, pasfc-Dominion president, told the Dominion council of 'Federated Farmers of New Zealand last week that the prevailing tendency of European countries was to look for assistance by way of loans. That tendency was encouraging them to forget the more important task of getting on with the job. Tlie food position in Britain had deteriorated severely in the past year and had had a damaging effect on the morale of the people, added Mr. Mulholland. The truculence of Ihe miners, the many unofficial strikes and the refusal to accept the instructions of their unions wore largely the result of insufficient energy-producing foods In his opinion, a good deal of the decline in morale dated irom the intioduction of broad rationing and every subsequent restriction had added to the damage. __
