GISBORNE DOCKING
ALMOST COMPLETED BEST IN FIVE YEARS With docking almost finished in the Gisborne district, a quick review of the position reveals that the tallies arc better this year than they have been for five years. With all percentages on the high side compared with recent years, it was difficult to learn of any case where the tallies had shown a decrease. Reports early in the season were to the effect that the lambs were mostly singles. -Twins were numerous when the lambing got under way and figure largely in the paddocks today. It has been reported that one 2-th flock in the hill country had a docking tally of 115 per cent, an excellent return in such a young flockAccording to veterinary sources, the usual lambing troubles were encountered by fanners of the district- There was nothing unusual associated with the lambing apart from the troubles already reported through these columns pertaining to bearing trouble, lamb mortality and sleepy sickness.
