OBITUARY

MR. W. GORDON A well-known citizen of Napier, where he had lived since coming to New Zealand in 1924, Mr. W. Gordon, died recently. Born in Bueksburn, Aberdeenshire, Scotland, 73 years ago, Mr. Gordon, with his wife went to Napier 23 years ago and there worked for the Napier Borough Council until retiring in 1940. Mr. Gordon took a keen interest in horticulture, Caledonian affairs and most sports. Mr. and Mrs. Gordon celebrated their golden wedding on January 4. He leaves his widow, two sons, Mr. J. Gordon, Gisborne, and Mr. W. Gordon, Lower Hutt, and two daughters, Mrs. F. Webb, Hastings, and Mrs. L. A. Prince, Clive. There are also nine grandchildren and two greatgrandchildren.
