YUGOSLAV CHARGE
U.S. TROOPS’ ACTS BRUTAL ATTACKS HOSPITAL DEMOLISHED (11.30 a.m.) PRAGUE, Sept. 18. A Yugoslav Foreign Ministry official declared, at a press conference, that United _ States troops had demolished a hospital and committed a series of brutal attacks on the Yugoslav population before withdrawing from Istria, according io the Tanjug news agency. The Yugoslav diplomatic representatives in Washington had been instructed to lodge a sharp protest and ask for compensation for the damage. The spokesman added that Yugoslavia would hold Italy responsible for terrorist acts committed in parts of the zone turned over to Italy. He alleged that “Fascist bands” plundered a large number o£ Yugoslav homes, threw hand grenades and terrorised the population.
