U.S. AID TO TURKEY
PLANES, TANKS, MUNITIONS EQUIPMENT OF ARSENALS (10 am.) WASHINGTON. Aug. 11. New military aircraft, modern arsenals, tanks and munitions will comprise the major part of the aid that Turkey will receive under the Truman doctrine. The expenditures at present envisaged include 51.750,000 dollars for artillery, anti-aircraft,- and - other ordnance. 22.000.000 dollars for arsenals and technical equipment, 10,000,000 for aircraft. 6.550,000 for naval needs and 2750.000, for training Turkish personnel in Turkey and United States. Some purchases under the 100 000.000 dollar enterprise will probably be made in Britain.
