AID FOR INDONESIA HOPES FOR SETTLEMENT SECURITY COUNCIL CASE (N.Z.P.A. —Reuter—Copyright.) BATAVIA, Aug. 10. The Republic fully accepted the offer made by the Australian Government to bring about an early and just settlement of the Indonesian conflict by the Security Council, said the Republican Prime Minister. Dr. Sjarifuddin, in a message to the Australian Prime Minister. Mr J. B. Chifley. He expressed deep gratitude to the Government and to the Australian people who had repeatedly proved their sympathy for the Indonesian cause. The message said the Indonesians noticed with satisfaction that the Australian people had upheld their old traditions by assisting the Indonesian people who were linked with Australians by bonds of a common struggle for the principles of freedom and democracy. The message concluded by stating that the Republic sincerely hopes that at the next Security Council meeting the efforts of the Indonesian, as well as the Australian, representatives might be crowned with satisfactory results.
