REFORMS IN BURMA
LAND STATE CONTROL (10 a.m.) RANGOON, Aug. 11. The Burmese Constituent Assembly unanimously decided to include in the constitution provisions for State ownership of all lands and forbidding private individuals to possess large holdings on any basis whatsoever. The State is also given the right to regulate, alter or abolish land tenures or resume possession of all land which it will distribute for collective cooperative farming or to agricultural tenants.
