WOOL AUCTIONS

GISBORNE CUP BOARD’S DISCUSSION MEETING OF GROWERS Wool sales in Gisborne and their import to woolgrowers received further attention from the New Zealand Wool Board at a recent meeting in Wellington. and It was agreed that a letter setting out the board’s views should be forwarded to the wool-brokers, who should, in turn, submit it to all growers in the Gisborne area. A meeting called by the board will be held in Gisborne early next month, at which growers will be addressed by the chairman, Mr, N. R. Jameson. A roster of sale dates for the coming season included Gisborne as a selling centre with two fixtures each of 25,000 bales, the first in December and the second in March. That was made by the auction sales advisory committee of the New Zealand Wool Disposal Commission, and approved by the board. The New Zealand WoolBuyers' Association reserved the right to vary the list by omitting sales set down for Gisborne. /
