1948 IMPORT SCHEDULE
"MOST RESTRICTIVE EVER'
Described as the “most restrictive ever’’ by the president of the Bureau of Importers. Mr. A. G. Wilson, the 1948 import licensing schedule has been received with general disappointment by Auckland importers and merchants. As 1947 licenses will net. be extended beyond December 21 and later deliveries will have to be included in the 1948 allocations, business men feci that the new schedule is in the shape of a tightening-up or “stocktaking” measure.”
Importers must indicate balances on existing licenses and the value of unfilled orders before applications for additional licenses can be obtained.
