FOOTBALL ON SUNDAY

WATERSIDERS GAIN POINT SYDNEY, Mi-y 1. The Newcastle watersiders will not now strike on one day weekly in order to play football as arrangements have been made for them to play on Sundays on an area of land outside the control of the Newcastle City Council. After the ground was offered them, the watersiders arranged a game to raise funds for a campaign against the ban on Sunday sport. The Mayor of Greater Newcastle said that he was in favour of Sunday sport but that the council was against it.
