TRAFFIC OFFENCES
MOTORISTS FINED PARKING IN WRONG AREAS Several persons charged with minor traffic offences by the Gisborne Borough Council’s traffic inspector. Mr. T. G. Nowel were dealt with in the Gisborne Magistrate's Court yesterday by Mr E. L. Walton. S.M. For parking in an area which had been marked off as a restricted area for the use of trade vehicles only in Heel street. Malcolm John Owen was fined £1 and costs. A motorist, John Leslie Jacques, who was charged with parking within 20ft. of an authorised pedestrian crossing in Gladstone road, stated that it was a wet night when the offence was committed and he could not see the lines marking off the restricted area. He was fined 10/- and costs. Miriam Esther Geddes. who was charged with a similar offence, also was fined 10/- and costs. Ror double parking his car for a considerable time in Low street, Edwin Stephen Shepherd was fined 10/- and costs Arthur Barrington, who was charged with parking over a fire-plug in Gladstone road, was fined 10/- and costs.
