EARTH TREMOR FELT
LINK WITH MT. RUAPEHU Residents of the Gisborne district experienced a slight earth tremor on Tuesday evening at approximately 5.50 o’clock, the shake being accompanied by a series of reports, which, to those indoors, resembled the effects of a number of blows upon the outer walls of buildings.. The tremor and the series of reports are stated to be associated with the renewed volcanic activity of Mount Ruapehu, reported from the Wanganui area. In last year's period of volcanic activity at Ruapehu country residents of this district frequently heard rumblings from the westward, and occasionally experienced ' slight tremors, but yesterday’s phenomenon was far more pronounced in its effects than any of those last year.
