OBITUARY
ELDERLY RESIDENT MRS. W. L. SPENCE Mrs William Low Spence, who celebrated tier diamond wedding anniversary on April 14, c'ied on Tuesday night. She was born in 1862 at Tamuinu, Hawke's Bay. and met Mr Spence there. They were married in 1887 at St. Peter’s Church. Waipawa After their marriage they came to Gisborne and farmed at Te Karaka and Tolawa Pay Thirty years ago Mr and Mrs Spence came to Gisborne to live and have resided here ever since. There were six children of their mar riage and five are still living. They are Mr J. L. L. Spence Waipoao station. Mr G. L Spence, Gisborne. Mr A. W. Spence. Paparatu station. Mrs W. Robb. Hamilton and Mrs Charles Conn. Bay of Plenty There are also 18 grand chi'drer. ‘and thve“ great-grandchildren A service will be held at her late Kahutia pt-oet. to day, and the funeral will leave later forl'm raruberu cemetery.
