HINDU AND SIKH LOSSES
NORTH-WEST FRONTIER VICEROY BEGINS TOUR (10 a.m.) PESHAWAR, April 28. Since the beginning of the year 400 Hindus and Sikhs have been killed and 150 wounded in the North-west Frontier disturbances, says an official statement. Fifty Hindu and Sikh places of worship were burned, more than 300 people "forcibly converted to Islam,” and 50 people kidnapped. The Viceroy, Lord Louis Mountbatten and Lady Mountbatten, arrived at Peshawar from New Delhi to-day to begin a tour of the North-West Frontier Province.
