BRIDE HONOURED

Prior to her marriage to Mr. H. J. Burborough last Saturday Miss Trixie Beaufoy, Kahutia street, was the guest of honour at a miscellaneous gift afternoon given by her prospective bridesmaids, Misses Lorraine and Cushla Beaufoy, at the home of the latter in Kahutia street. Interesting competitions, causing much enjoyment were held, and after a delicious afternoon tea the bride-to-be, assisted by her bridesmaids, opened numerous gift parcels. She was wearing a smart tailored brown linen frock and thanked all present for their kindness at the conclusion of the party. Mrs. P. Sutton, assisted by her daughter. Miss I. Sutton, was alii) a hostess at a "miscellaneous” party for Miss Beaufoy at her home in Grey street. The evening was passed with several interesting games and competitions, and community singing. A savoury supper was served, after which Miss Beaufoy, assisted by one of her prospective bridesmaids, Miss Cushla Beaufoy, opened the gift parcels. The guest of honour was wearing a navy silk frock, with an embroidered yoke, and at the conclusion of a very happy evening thanked her hostess and all present for their lovely gifts.
