A BRIDE TO-DAY
HEATON—BARTRAM
Joan Patricia Bartram, who was married to-day, wore traditional white and was escorted by three ’maids in blue, her bridegroom, Flight Lieutenant Eric Cawthra Heaton, R.N.Z.A.F.. Ohakea. being attended by three fellowairmen. The wedding took place in Holy Trinity Church, decorated by the bridesmaids in pinks and blues, and Canon A. F. Hail officiated at the ceremony. Mr. D. Dyer being at the organ. The bride is the youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. O. E. Bartram, Gladstone road, and the bridegroom is the son of Mrs. L. Heaton and the late Mr. H. B. Heaton, Greenmoadows. Escorted by her brother. Mr. A. D. Bartam, the bride made an attractive picture in her heavy embossed faille gown, designed on fitting lines. The heart-shaped neckline coming to a downward peak at the centre matched the pointed bodice, from which fell the very full skirt. At the back, the bodice was trimmed with tiny buttons and from the pointed V at the back fell a full, graceful train, edged with a frill. The sleeves of her frock came to a point over her hands and she wore pearls. From a cluster of cream chrysanthemums fell a most beautiful tulle veil edged with very old Honiton lace, and the cream chrysanthemums carried matched the flowers in her hair. She was attended by Misses Mary Walton, Brenda Cranswick and Joan Burt, who all wore dainty blue silk crepe frocks. Their frocks, too, had heart-shaped necklines and little gathered yokes on to the bodices, which were fitting and came to a V at the waist. A tiny peplum came from the point at the front of their frocks and continued round to the back of the skirts which were circular ones. Buttons from the neckline to the peplum finished the backs of their bodices. They carried ameythest chrysanthemum bouquets and wore flowers in their hair. In attendance on the bridegroom were Squadron Leader C. H. Baigent, D. 5.0., D'F.C. and Bar, Flight Lieutenant T. A. M. Morgan, and Flying Officer R. Barron. Following the wedding, the guests were received at the residence of the bride’s parents, where a garden reception was held. Mrs. Bartram was wearing a black coat and hat and floral frock, and the bridegroom’s mother had pinned a floral spray on her black outfit. Later, the bride and ’groom left on their honeymoon, the bride wearing a blue boucle suit with wine accessories.
