AUCKLAND PARTY
DISTRICT VISIT ORCHARD INTERESTS JUNE TOUR PROPOSED Advice has been received by the Poverty Bay Fruitgrowers Association of a visit to this district in June by a large group of Auckland district orchardists. who will spend at least two days inspecting Gisborne orchards with special reference to citrus culture. The Poverty Bay association will sponsor the visit, in respect of the twodavs’ programme of orchard inspections and a’lso in respect cf entertainments to be tendered to the Auckland visitors. Details of the programme have not yet been finalised, but it is expected that the visiting party will number between 35 and 40. It is hoped that Mr A. Condon president of the New Zealand Fruitgrowers’ Federation may accompany the Auckland visitors. Mr Condon returned recently from a visit to the United Kingdom and the information in his posses sion regarding fruit-export prospects should be of vital importance to district orchardists.
