GRATITUDE SHOWN
BRITISH FAMILIES WELCOME FOOD PARCELS (P.A.) WELLINGTON, April 23. Many letters of gratitude for st)o food parcels sent to the families of exservicemen in Britain last December have been received by the New Zealand Returned Services’ Association. The recipients of parcels, who range from Boer war veterans to ex-service-men of the last war, write pathetically of their pleasure at getting the New Zealand parcels and comment on the hardship caused by the shortages of such commodities as butter, meat and cooking fats. Many letters of thanks have also arrived from those who received similar parcels from the 100 branches of the Returned Services’ Association throughout the Dominion.
