SPECIAL FUND URGED
GRANTS TO SUB-UNIONS RUGBY FOOTBALL PLAN (P.A.) WELLINGTON, April 24. The suggesion that the New Zealand Union should establish a fund for grants to affiliated unions for rehabilitation purposes was made at yesterday’s meeting of the council of the New Zealand Rugby Footbali Union by Mr. F. Sutherland, who considered that £IO,OOO should be set aside for this purpose. Tne president. Mr. H. Strang, said it was customary for the unions to apply for loans when needed, and the chairman, Mr. S S. Dean, said the union always iiad been ready to heip unions which found themselves in difficulties. Mr. Sutherland’s motion was carried, but no actual figure was named l'or the fund.
