OBITUARY
MR. CHARLES FOGDEN A well known and liighly-respectea resident ol' Gisborne. Mr Charles Fogden. died in the Cook Hospital on Tuesday afternoon at the age of 12 years ’ Mr Fogden tor many years was in the Civil Service in Gisborne, retiring eight years ago. Born in Southampton, England, Mr Fogden served his apprenticeship to the grocery trade, and on becoming a master grocer was for many years employed by John Brown and Company, a large firm ol grocers and universal providers, London. in loyi Mr r ogden came Ui'.Ncw lauu, and married in uiauume iviisa niiCii He joined the Civil bei vice m lout) and aiici 34 years ui uuvernment service in inisboriie ne retired m lndii, devout.* niniseii to his garden, which was in* cmei Houoy. Mr Fogden was obliging and became well known during ms years ut work in GisLviiio. iris wile pie deceased turn by 14 years. IVII fuguen had always enjoyed good health until last week, and Ins death came as a shock to his i datives and triend.s. To mourn their loss be leaves one daughter, Miss Eileen Fogden, Gisborne. and one son. Mr Charles Fogden, also of oisborne.. There are a.so six grandchildieri. and one brother, who iPsides in England. A service was held in Cochrane's ciiapei William street at 10.30 a.m. today prior to the funeral leaving tor the Taruheru cemetery.
