EIGHT ARRESTED
TERRORIST_LEADERS BEST ROUND-UP YET STERN GANG AND IRGUN LONDON, Mar. 24. Eight members of the Jewish terrorist “high command” were arrested in the last few days in what the police describe as the best single round-up ever carried out, says the British United Press correspondent in Jerusalem. Those arrested include the Stern Gang commander of the Jerusalem area, Gaacov Viniarsky, aged 34, the brothers Friedman and the brothers Goldstein.
The terrorists have been detained at the Latrun camp. The Irgun Zvai Leumi radio declared: "All our men are safe at their bases." The Rome police arrested 42 foreign Jews, after they had broken into and damaged the Jewish refugee organisation’s headquarters. Officials told the police that the attackers held the organisation responsible for their failure to get to Palestine.
