DIAMONDS AND GOLD |S. AFRICAN PRESENTATIONS !(io am.) LONDON; Jan. 29. ' The South African Government will present diamonds cut as brilliants and a gold tea service to the Royal Family 'during the tour, says Reuter’s correspondent in Capetown. The King will receive in a gold box a small number of diamonds, and the Queen an engraved gold tea service consisting of a teapot, sugar basin and cream jug.
The South African Railways and Harbours Administration will present a diamond brooch to Princess Elizabeth ■ when she opens the new East London graving dock. Besides presenting Princess Elizabeth on her twenty-first birthday with 21 brilliants interspersed with baguettes and small brilliants for a necklace, the Union Government will hand a similar gift but with only 17 brilliants to Princess Margaret. All the diamonds came from State alluvial diggings.
