TOKOMARU BAY NEWS

R.S.A, DANCE AND SOCIAL The Centennial Hall, Tokomaru Bay, was the scene of a very happy gathering on Monday evening, when the local R.S.A. sponsored a complimentary dance and social for the ladies and friends. Miss Ngawai’s orchestra provided the music for dancing, and Mr. A. B. Forrester was the M.C. Flags and bunting were used to decorate the stage. During ati interval in the dancing boys and girls of the native school entertained with several Maori action songs, which were greatly appreciated. The attendance was large, well over 200 people being present. The supper arrangements were entirely in the hands of the returned men. The supper tables, artistically decorated with bowls ot mixed blooms and bedecked with all kinds of cakes and savoury delicacies, were a credit to those concerned. Mr. and Mrs. C. Rosier and their son Vaughan, who have been on holiday in Auckland, have returned to Tokomaru Bay.— Mr. and Mrs. T. Edge and family, who have been camping on the Waikanae Beach, Gisborne, for a fortnight, have returned to their home in Ongnruru. Tokomaru Bay tennis enthusiasts who took part in the Tolaga Bay week-end tournament were Mr. and Mrs. J. Oarer; Misses I\. Beale, P. Wilkins, J. Oates; Messrs. W. Baker, T. Oates, R. Forrester, B. Simpson, R. McKee, E. Doak, D. Forrester, and L. Kennedy. Mrs. A. P. Orr returned to Gisborne on Wednesday
