LULL AFTER HOLIDAYS FOOD FOR BRITAIN APPEAL Meat and butter coupons are still being surrendered in good numbers, although fewer are being received than before the Christmas holidays, in the Gisborne appeal for food for Britain. _ The silent street appeal in the business area was fairly well supported last week, 12 butter and 420 meat coupons being received. Te Araroa Post Office cancelled the greatest numoer of coupons for any one post office in the district, 126 butter and 1939 meat coupons being surrendered to the postmaster. The Ruatoria total for the week was 27 butter and 612 meat coupons, while the school children at Tikitiki were responsible for the 87 meat coupons surrendered in that area. Fat collected during the week totalled 2541 b. Coupon surrenders credited to the main post offices in the Gisborne district to January 24 are as under: —
