Restrictions on the investment ol trustee moneys had become unduly harsh in their impact on individuals who. because of their circumstances, were unable to earn a livelihood and therefore had been provided for by will or by the establishment of a trust fund, said the chairman of the Auck- j land Stock Exchange. Mr. K. N. Buttle. | at .the annual meeting of the exchange ‘ to-day. This class had been hit by the increased taxation, bv the rise in prices and by the fall in iterest returns. The Trustee Act. 1008. should be examined by a competent tribunal and adapted to ihe present requirements. Mr. Buttle added that the Act should ! be amended to allow trustees to employ | the capital at their disposal to the j maximum advantage compatible with ! reasonable security.
