VETO TO REMAIN
AUSTRALIAN MOVE BEATEN (9 a.m.) NEW YORK, Dec. 9. The Political Security Committee of the United Nations has refused to recommend the elimination of Veto from the United Nations’ Charter. The committee rejoiced an Australian proposal, which by implication censured Russia’s use of the veto in the Security Council, but adopted an amended Australian resolution calling on the Big Five members of the Council to endeavour to limit the application of veto.
