Chiefly, has admitted that the Government is still having the greatest difficulty in finding a suitable man. Some high-ranking public servants who would normally rush a £SOOO a year job are believed to have shied of! when told that it was the Coal Board chairmanship. Mr. Chiefly said there had been plenty of applicants, but none measured up to requirements. The present coal commissioner, Mr. H. L. Williams, will resign when the new appointment is made.
