Resent—You eati do without many things but can you do “Without Love?” That' is the theme—and a hilarious one it is—of the M.G.M. attraction “Without Love,” which .is commencing to-morrow, co-starring Spencer Tracey _ and Katharine Hepburn. Take a scientist-inventor who much prefers to read a good book than to talk to any woman, and a beautiful girl who wants no more love in her life; add a new high-altitude oxygen mask for fliers which the inventor has been assigned to perfect by the Government —and you have the plot. Majestic.—To-day’s programme from Warner BroH. is headed by the outstanding western production "Bad Men of Missouri,” starring Dennis Morgan, Wayrto Morris and Arthur Kennedy , as the famous Younger Bros. Robin Hoods of the range who clashed with Jesse James. The associate comedy, “Make Your Own Bed, stars Jack Carson, Irene Manning and Jane Wyman.
King’s—An amusing comedy, "Breakfast in Hollywood, heads the programme whleh begins to-day at the King’s Theatre. Tom Breneman is the star, others in the cast being Bonita Granville, Beulah Bondi, and Billie Burke.
Opera House—ln aid of the Hlne Materon Children s Home, Maureen Keany’s revue, "Xmas Frolics,”, will be presented at the Opera House to-night at 8 o'clock. Over 100 artists, juvenile and adult, provide a joyous blend of dancing, music, mirth, noveltv. spectacular ballets, and dance ensembles Outstanding specialty acts include “The Floritas ” in perhaps the greatest showing of acrobatic art even shown in Gisborne, "Pharos,” a modern master magician# the Savage Club party. Mrs. B. Akers, the Coleman trio, Tom Lveli and Wi! B. Xeatiy as the comical bhime. Tickets and reserves arc available at Arthur loye. Limited.
