TOLAGA BAY NEWS
W.I. GARDEN PARTY Held under the auspices of the Tolaga Bay Women’s Institute, a very enjoyable garden party was held in the grounds of Mrs. W. J. O’Conner’s home on the Parade on Wednesday afternoon in lovely sunshine. The members and their friends enjoyed strolling around the spacious lawns, lose gardens and shrubberies and several diverting competitions were entered into with enthusiasm. Mrs. J. Rennie won the treasure hunt, Mrs. A. Callaghan the relay races and Mrs. Williamson the putting competition. Afternoon tea was served from the sunny verandah. Mrs. V. F. Hurlstone is a patient in the Cook Hospital, Gisborne. Recent guests at the Tolaga Tun included Mr. and Mrs. V. Dee. Mrs. Murdock, New Plymouth. Mr. E. J. Bently, Wellington : Mrs. K." Matthews.
