FELLING CRITICISED (P.A.) WHANGAREI, Dec. 6. At a special meeting of the Whangarei Forest and Bird Society last night speakers strongly criticised the felling of kauri trees in Waipoua forest and unanimously passed the following motion: i “That the Government be asked to halt the felling and logging of timber in Waipoua Forest forthwith and set up a special commission, including botanists, zoologists, biologists and foresters to consider the whole question regarding the advisability of reserving .the complete area as a national park.”
